Went to Platinum mall which is at walking distance from my hotel. Perhaps 1 km. so the husband offered to watch the cub in the room while I went shopping. And shopping I went! Platinum mall is soooo cool! I only covered the ground and first floors today which are filled with women's clothing and all at such reasonable rates! I ran out of money and had to run to the nearest Western Union to exchange some more and then jumped in again! </p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Ok so I'm gonna post pics of the stuff I bought here. Got some dresses and tops. Best part? I didn't have to lug the bags around on my arm. Bought this super cute shopping bag trolley that they were selling on the second floor and kept dumping all my shopping into it. Also dragged it back on the road when I walked back to the hotel. And I'm also planning to just put stuff in it and check in this bag on the flight back home. Yay! Don't you just love such ingenious multi purpose things? And so cheap too! The bag cost me 500Baht. And the tops are all on an average about 200Baht each (320INR) and the dresses were about 300Baht (500INR)</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAHPtoZgRAz6HCkZpsRecyENWeFaHfIw3mdo-AqWVh6WEylo-HWi3CgCR-dzbbb5Qwr3YTwCWqn2vc1voKy6AjC98oxEitDgpykQhalARxl8s9cIXEYj1lY5MSFmQWAeY0WNAirhcqukRN/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4LGuWZ1nbOlkRI_Uut-yQOjm3SPZ452I4uX4NzyeURgsIUpGbv8-e76YttEnefkvEvuaWeJd-XQRd-tDxRlZRZV60tti4uy2QcfCkqAJOThMy9e1KAF6Wz2yT37uwbzCz6vByqOvmVEYj/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZwCFs1pyg-42j83TGwhO0p6F30PxovKaK1NCMwa0YKcHY_rteXULP9acrvs9Al7xKDSARuTTRjMmxsFgd6QvCW0nqOYwFhnhCnXggKWq3p10grYaHwlHcTxmtHSGQRWX5fYKK8vis6C3Z/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi93i73kQCR_3IuCQoy8uP6CzMlcz-cE101OS8LIeKtgZWSPPfkqzB36tSLaLvMIjo8ThrXoQQL6akkQte6mS0Br9ENJhR0GRyO3YkaNhSJawqMTTGlgqFRfY-V98UMlUDVtS3BgCFfmNdL/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-wt7XCndl2RCj3AIaStO-jq0m093aXl9MdBzKMABXcA1oweHZkS9s9gdr6tCVg_tcYU58GohC_Vj9LsSCBu8bFPoOnrLxZHbKEKBIbPzZZDUFQjCQLiBikvog4KArKQSQzimV4JZArRgG/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLS0IvU44hThDT-c9Nd-8hNjLqwv9meelHQTMBQds-VO51QqxMPw_RIQScyvJEMOHPbJPeScx6BsYx7z5STcMc-KIQJSYIocfyep_-vFCynVi3Iuey4CySs2kVjORh7E4Cmi9mwRCn7Icj/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW3xSacnpCsDfKjPAaTESVLJNwmqhrmCFxytc7XhGKkZ5pzvpamzeectzlwt56NAztl-cxvGIi-nF4uY-gJe2RRAZQRLTMPcpnKq_fduNxeppbt0CqOdbT_oVDm9i0m2mZrK-Y0MU1aEIt/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMb7N1eHjieNohXPnzP4gvjm5x6pXVaJI6aDDbYtLMf3cdWji5u0yf3g8RhrhLVTHnFfMzgkOWdRTgH0eenJQxiRLWimVS8MCKZ7SzHhU2VwZVvKYgOPNF55JwuD2HKD0Ggc56OqsBcHu-/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9RVpqEM-P4K7g9-xpYWArrfanqT6TbbORi3D0BjSa0AnGHy7rCC0XCUl1VI8rPpOcD1R57Um847mQ2pZd6DRLc1ufSB7oOX_D46hdlzAPo1dNhnddAXpc_mwaGCFtsSSYLMlhamDIod7X/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSBEIy4RlQPgTqk2FXx4fYqPivTMm7Mcb4BNPG01wUA5UOeSxGpZmjx0AiVyTraDrm-lehQxHQB2Dh5jfwCbjZ1Qe_MbJDsUzEtQwjK2XkNgmAGtPvrDXZiP4rFwhDUCd-oIeA1ppLqDrR/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>That's it for day2. The baby, though wasn't howling wasn't sleeping either and was generally not vey comfortable. So we got in at about 4am local time and checked into our hotel which is really close to Platinum mall and Pratunam market. Coincidence? Hah. Yeah, right!</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Okie then the first day was spent entirely at MBK mall. Had yummy Tom yum soup and pad Thai noodles. I cannot express enough my love for these. Yummmmmy. So after that was wandering around the mall while the husband walked the cub around in his stroller who also slept for about a couple of hours. <br><br>So I excitedly ran from one shop to the next. I was running against time. Had to buy so much. In such little time. (can you hear the mission impossible theme music too in your head?) Anyhoo, I mainly bought a lot of skin care stuff and some makeup. Loovved Beauty Buffet. There's about 3 outlets in MBK alone so you can't miss it. There was a sale going on too so I just went a little crazy.<br>Also bought stuff at Oriental princess and Watsons and some lingerie and a Majolica Majorca pore primer at Tokyu departmental store.<br><br>Sad part? I was soo busy shopping that I didn't take any pics inside the mall. Damn! So I'm just posting the pics of my haul here.<br><br>Excuse the lighting in the pics. These were taken at the hotel room where the lighting is just soo sucky!</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirihVrZ6PVNx4YNK22dPqbHR8fuoi4wz4YdVkyixCrtk_P1B4vx_UzZ-0Bt1KGAuCDpoIfHfwn59_D6Ji_KRh9MtwoLQYGl1TiB85bt3lJxKbLhP7fmtYj1LoZMIvikQTK9_S1BFnjKK-n/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0_RkvWKQavULkaPZZ3TSFy6x0CRlOPqbOL6quN_nOjs3oneose8WWj8hnrScjhtgvWanL7hNSJLAcB1bPK3SmvP-kmHXua0v1-57C0HYpgRi8Ts8rewPo1eSxGof3lGNrACjE4g0Ie5TO/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW8JLO4rfQ_QrWzi05P3t6WfUOic1aKe1N2wy00DkZ4nzK1PVdNpcwMxteSB9QMB5xzqIQWeJvd5jZaIORmSv3ldT0ptp9Woujc6uy4ggjU_N2R9RrYGoH8L19PWRecXym13ShfdJC-Moh/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiulzW9zWdtwgJWPu1_ayC-OavyZcN5inCbLPhJidQqlFCZOBTrS8OPjCfA61ZbYfSrJs9uwJHiYl42F48b90w93nqyMDDMMnv9buXP-z_ty2LJUXjMhXzfw3PiwNWMeYnBjWcUdJrXjXi/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>That was today! This is my second trip to Bangkok so I won't be doing much sight seeing. It's purely a relaxation cum shopping trip (very oxymoron-ic I know) but only massages and laying by the pool side and shopping are on my agenda. <br><br>And like any self respecting shopaholic blogger worth her salt I did FULL research about where to go and what to buy. When I say research I mean watch YouTube videos of Bangkok hauls, shopping in Bangkok and read blogs, recommendations, check online sites, prices, the whole hog. And I present here my findings, nay, my thesis on the subject. Behold:</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgW58YAmCtfmPMiYnzY7fYV5YASKTCL9of5J5zHl_75FRJQtrK3C3jFpmzmLoiNk3f4yztjavpc9oMFdx_pgy1tAAVPMWYcmv38hfeILsMq_v3Di2vtk7a5bPTytt4LZQExXqz_f-gQhKa/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-8vDhTzokaBM/T_NBhcbwryI/AAAAAAAAB8o/Xmp3mFyRyy4/D030166D-1B3B-424D-85AB-AB321BAC1DF9.jpg'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Where to go?</b><br><br>You'd be a fool to visit Bangkok and not go to <b>MBK</b>. it's THE mother of all malls, ok? It's a mall unlike any other. If you only have a day in Bangkok, go to MBK. An hour? MBK. A week? MBK. DUH~~~ <i>Ok ok we get it. But what does this MBK have? Why is it so special? </i> ok kids, gather around n listen closely. MBK sells everything from clothes, shoes, bags, makeup, accessories, electronics to furniture, handicrafts and everything in between. The best part? Prices are cheaap. And you can bargain in most places. The whole mall has this small stores that either have offers such as "pick anything for 199Baht" or are open to bargaining. They even have small kiosks for fake perfumes, watches and makeup. Check out the NARS and MAC stuff. Haha! But i do recommend the makeup brushes here. <br><br>Ok so here's a list of places that you must check out in MBK in addition to the multiple shops selling shoes, bags and clothes.<br><b>Watsons</b>: This is a local drugstore chain that stocks all the regular makeup brands like Revlon, Maybelline and L'oreal and also has Asian stuff like Majolica Majorca, Lioele, Canmake and in2it. Do check out their mascaras, compact powders and bb creams. Oh and the oh so cute packaging will win your heart over. *_*<br><br><b>Boots</b>: this is again a drugstore chain that stocks Soap and Glory stuff. I wanna snag the cheek mate from this line which is a gel kinda blush tint much like my beloved Lakme just kissed tint which has sadly been discontinued. Soap and Glory also has awesome body butters, body washes and lotions all in very cool retro packaging.<br><br><b>Beauty Buffet</b>: This is a Thai cosmetics brand that has some really cool stuff for very reasonable prices. Looking to pick up their dupes for benefit's benetint and high beam. Also looking at some nail polishes, nice powder blushes and body lotions.<br><br><b>Tokyu departmental store:</b> This is the major anchor store at MBK and has everything! Must check out their lingerie section for some cute and affordable stuff and they even have a <b>Naraya</b> outlet within. What's Naraya? Only the cutest, most girly, pweetttyyy Asian bag store that is also easy on the pocket. The biggest Naraya outlet is in Level 1 of Siam Discovery Centre. Also located at ground floor of Central World Plaza. Make sure you check these out.<br><br>MBK also has electronics and CD stores to keep the men busy while you excitedly run around. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRJ3dR2WLSpFnY3hBNMzwUEQn8mKcwjPvLs9JxXzULb4PDwjGG0Hg8SYGfs0mKBrlp2BXOgbBEaCzzyAu5lbAAs27ZRhl2tFNWAy8rQ91R7QsZNbcsShFvDFlmPARLl_K35yVQ9Cl8Tuk5/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Next stop <b>Platinum Mall.</b><br>This is also pretty much like MBK but has mainly women's clothing, bags, shoes and other accessories all at wholesale rates. Must visit. Remember to bargain. :) Also check out makeup brushes and hair extensions here. Supposedly good.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Right opposite Platinum mall is an area called Pratunam which has the <b>Pratunam market </b>that is a wholesale garment market. Last time I picked up really cute dresses and some sleek casual blazers here. Very cheap. Need I say more?</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdiuBqW_zKiNthFRJbzHG70_46GJDBDB9udAYGJIi60xM6fFCrTDtrVvIdeHKlHuaDXtm31Wr6cmTZ_sOaRr7tpB1SoML7MuYS7N2T7WyEE3Q21hP_6Ea7YVqwmdEcT5ifLIDll_VEhXy6/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Alrighty so you want to cute up your gadgets and also pull the husband/boyfriend out of his coma? Head to <b>Pantip plaza</b> thats right next to Platinum mall. This is 6 floors of only gadgets and electronics. Thai equivalent of the famous Sim Lim square at Singapore, if you may. Look out for cute USB drives shaped like a cupcake/ car/ shoe/ hippo/ hello kitty. Also check out cute covers for your iPads and phones. Quite a place for the geek in you.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>In addition to these there's a new mall on the scene called Terminal 21 that's a theme mall with each floor modelled after a city. There's a tokyo floor and a Stockholm floor etc. shopping-wise not too exciting but worth a look.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj81xqDNnQhyphenhyphennd7AyZh3dEv-KY8JJS4bHtBJix7UvB9OQ5GRozBbv2kpyAlm6IM5NJr9_l_c3BRwtXLjle8VrSY5n1kf6byoijZW4MJnn59OJjuzHNoygqvjA29r6vDCooNhKtjmRnDPU_o/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>No mention of Bangkok shopping can be complete without the night markets, most famous being <b>patpong</b> (the naughty place) and the <b>Suan Lum night markets.</b> Again you can pick up cheap clothes or designer bags knock offs or some crazy souvenir here.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Chatuchak weekend market</b> is one of the biggest markets in Asia and has everything! Like a flea market on speed. I'm skipping this on my trip this time coz I don't think the cub would be able to handle the heat and crowd of this place. I'm sticking to my malls, thank you.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Alrighty then that was that and I'm off tomorrow. Pretty excited but also kinda nervous coz I dunno how the cub will handle it. 4.5 hrs will be the longest flight ever with him. Dreading the tantrums. Would I be a bad mommy to drug him? errr... Kidding! Anyhoo, I've just packed everything today and my bag is still 70% empty. Will anyway pick up those huge shopping wheelie bags to dump my shopping in, instead of lugging it around. </p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>But tomorrow's gonna be a killer day! Got so much of work to get out of the way too! Has anyone noticed how you always get extra work and new projects just when you're about to go on a vacation? Ugh. I'm only gone from office for 2 days but it's exactly when one project is due for handing over and another one has to start! Law of sucker punch stress before vacation. Or something like that. Bloody killjoy. </p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So toodles everyone. Will try n do a daily update with pics from there. (free wifi in the hotel, hah). Hope the damn rains stay away and the cub behaves well. Touchwood. Bye!</p>thePURPLEspirithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927252130066411978noreply@blogger.com4Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India13.060422 80.24958312.936679000000002 80.0916545 13.184165 80.4075115tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8300038460300779736.post-72030207510242156572012-06-30T23:43:00.000+05:302012-06-30T23:45:28.222+05:30Why I've been AWOL : List of (lame) excuses<p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Ive been a bad girl! I know I haven't blogged for the last three months. But I have my excuses ready. Yes sir! I started working again from April (which is co-incidentally when I stopped blogging) and between working, managing the baby and having a decently active social life I just haven't had the mojo or the time to blog. Mostly lost mojo coz I somehow suddenly didn't see the point in parading all that I have been buying. So perhaps this blog will now head in a new direction. Who knows! Psst..doesn't mean I've stopped shopping. Bwahahahaha...as if! <br><br>Oh btw I do have a day job. I'm an architect and now I'm working part time. I do 12 noon to 6pm which is quite convenient. Anyhoo, just to bring the blog up to speed on what's been happening in my life... The cub is almost 11 months old now and if this were a mommy blog I'd be telling you how he's now learning to walk and how he has clear tastes and is already throwing tantrums! But since this ain't one I shall not. <br></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQNPF2pjGCGg7vqo9wKoB9BtZvye7Zsl2km8SWsU_-GjK9UzXKsqhDf4RQOA43Kp3jNvO70c-f77DKXX7TGCdRSaednER-IiOaLlzJScum2zodSZqjtxMT8WpQmpPifkHb2q38FJHts7lc/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I'm also taking a teeny tiny short holiday to Bangkok next week and this would be the cub's first international holiday. Why Bangkok? Coz it's cheap, the flight is only 4.5hrs long and mama wants to do some shopping. The husband and some other friends are coming along too so should be fun! Just hope the cub behaves decently. *fingers crossed* This is my second trip to Thailand so I already have a clear idea about where to go (where to shop) and have done some further research in the field and shall present my findings shortly. :)<br></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6x30mRmZGOvbGzyemNN1jQ72piD3F7UJ4AgIRk-fcatq3LkKMcG1QrY0mLF1H14F4gwTltMLn2sPVSeF_nraYsxYuYSx1Jo8OcZ_jyaPUUwfR3b96fDCHqDP3ZpWS8juMVtIRA8EngNu2/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Oh and I've started getting out a fair bit and even got featured on the page 3 here on Times of India and Deccan Chronicle newspapers. *giggle* Also, I realised I'm not bloody 20 anymore! Can't stand these loud clubs hopping with college kids. Much rather prefer lounge bars with good music at decibels that don't make your ears go *guiiiiiinnnnnnnnn* afterwards and you can have a decent conversation with your friends without having to shout into their eardrums. Or maybe this is only coz im not drinking these days. :p</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMK2YSCAurnDLNn-7G-O7An0yNIRW0Rxw0lVgBHi7sU_NuDUdFjVWmtCs7xzAGm23CVu6JJrDJVLRYJ8BE2oEAxK8f-xScjq0EUc-SeW97c8By4N8MPiUdkUcla99nKE6enUAAlyz1W3zc/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So yep...that's about it. Hope to blog more often. Also hope to change the flavour around here. Not just product reviews after product reviews! How boring right! </p>thePURPLEspirithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927252130066411978noreply@blogger.com6Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India13.060422 80.24958312.936679000000002 80.0916545 13.184165 80.4075115tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8300038460300779736.post-75543522155481965742012-04-10T22:28:00.000+05:302012-04-10T22:28:17.600+05:30Deborah Milano hi-tech eyeshadow trio in 10 Green Rhapsody: Swatches, review and EOTD<p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>This looks a lot like the Bourjois Smokey eye Trios but is in fact much different. I suppose these are baked too and it says you can use these wet as well. The Deborah Hi Tech eyeshadow trios come in many shades and you can create a whole eye look with each. The one I'm reviewing here <b>Green Rhapsody</b> is an olive green gold combo trio. These Deborah Milano hi tech eyeshadow trios retail at <b>Rs. 495</b> and are available at Deborah Counters or most retail sites. I picked this up from Medplusbeauty at a discount.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoiXuLFpKpnZ23PvLM5ehd_HZj4WyjwkN8tUXGH_QUvNWVoCoCyoAv6_jmHQdQQ7tF2nx4pE_b9CnB0GcoBjXsy4vKjWBSKDecsysZzYj9Dl7uyMjrB0uZxpRD0o-j8doEiSxpJ9yXHqHD/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJOu4Txx6UjGGlVfxsfNGcat6mD_pTOsYDC4l8uu3QjWCtwJtIcqiYNg_AcmlaI74T5s2hMxeF0ynAFoIlLE4oOfL2ghj592_xBObnIYcDAFNboRXhn9CS5cbhKwm6XtJphbmGCsUtHfdU/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>The Deborah Milano Hi Tech trios are very soft despite being baked and have very <b>good pigmentation</b>. These are also <b>slightly sparkly.</b> They go on pretty smooth and blend easily but have some amount of <b>fallout</b> since they are so soft so you gotta be careful during application. The shade Green Rhapsody has a <b>light yellow gold </b>shade which can serve as a highlighter or even as an all over lid shade for a daytime look. The next shade is a <b>medium pista green </b>shade which again has slight shimmer and good payoff. The third and darkest shade is an <b>olive green</b> which is not too intense. You can create a nice <b>daytime smokey green</b> eye look with these as shown below or even combine with a bit of black shadow to create further depth for added intensity. You could even use these wet but I've not tried it so far coz I'm not sure how to do it..whether to just wet a brush and dig into these or scrape a bit of shadow out and then use it. Coz sometimes using a wet brush directly on the pan spoils the shadow. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTwpl82OI5cFdlD6sFgqjXl3QAqi5RLT65mCJijSXYiZegjDCzWcHY0vs-pVKMjelCPAxmc7nlAt1aopyDdc6kgg21lgXkALbZhAB4NcTpxWdRqIQs7T-fA5Oyt6_ErSivRGxCkcgqkd6E/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-odRyI-6CGm8/T4RKr5HHWVI/AAAAAAAAB64/Cg6w_7wqIUc/C93F59F8-1D86-4607-B85C-63212EFA8A40.jpg'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkiUErbbyjHge53NmeL-zIP724b5upER330KZ-whNmlFgYsK34zSnKO9ympw1zkX6LazaUTpxPKzy-R4dyDQbPF9gLHuhWbCFZ77EtGDfYV176hFVlcf0ap-rWoFn2K497OX1_LVlidATu/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Yay for:</b><br />

<li>Can create a nice subtle green smokey look with this palette</li>
<li>Can be used with the applicator provided or with a makeup brush</li>

<br />
<br />
<b>Boo for:</b><br />
<ul><li>Has fallout</li>
<li>Needs primer underneath to prevent creasing</li>

<li>Has slight shimmer so it may not be workplace appropriate</li>
<li>The plastic casing is slightly hard to open</li>
</ul><br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><i>Overall, these are worth the price and the shades are easy to work with. However, I'm not quite impressed with the colours in this particular palette. Might look at some other colours. </i><br />

They're so cute and compact and usually contain enough stuff for a complete makeup look. Hey, everyone likes to arrange stuff in palettes. No other way to explain all the "de-potting" videos on YouTube right?<br />
So this one from Bourjois is really cute and comes as a trio of 3 colours to create a smokey look. Bourjois is pretty well known for its baked blushes and eyeshadows and these pallets have 3 baked mineral eyeshadows in pretty colours. The Bourjois Smokey Eye Trios are prices at <b>Rs.645 each for 4.5g</b> and are available at Bourjois counters or a few online sites. I picked this up form <a href='http://www.medplusbeauty.com' target='_blank'>Medplusbeauty.com</a> at a discount.<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibEtLduKJt-bmsMrSr_1fXnHwXOxhL2Oal0w0ZXkP-cc4Krtj5HgEskTkPrv2XHxVqWUn2gn6aqCRPX5jkskRpjTg7G1pU_cLN1LIslg9trXQraZqPxJu9AT-FX9loPrSHa0L7L5Ad9way/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYydxhJPlfOq5pfsSKfPrNhjt0e2y4NE1gspHEddJhGdL_540ZmA_P9gD3-Md1UVjIdOJrs8R1C2_5qRo-_cCRRblRJ4QQuFhdWD66Ok-hIaVoDm5hnYzlrojzsMIh9-11MaV27ej2A2Uo/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>The shade I have is <b>Gold Smoking</b> which has a dull orange-y gold shade that's not too sparkly or metallic but just right. The darker shade in this palette is Black (or is it dark dark brown?) with subtle bronze shimmer throughout. The lightest shade is a pale pale white gold shade. The shades are all <b>average</b> when it comes to <b>pigmentation</b> with the gold having the best pigmentation and the white gold having the least. The white gold isn't smooth at all and goes on patchy but makes a nice subtle highlighter! But I don't really use it so much and love the other 2 shades in this palette. <br />
Now this is a <b>baked shadow palette</b> and the shades are slightly hard. You CANNOT use a brush to apply this. You won't get any product at all! You can only use the <b>foam tip applicator</b> that's been provided with this. This applicator is pretty good. It's not the usual sponge tipped one..this is more like foam. This doesn't get shredded like the usual sponge tipped ones in a couple of uses. I only use this applicator with this palette. You can even <b>blend pretty well</b> with this applicator. Surprising, I know! <br />
The shades themselves have <b>no fallout</b> whatsoever and <b>adhere really well</b> to the skin without even a base or a primer. It's also pretty <b>long lasting</b> and doesn't crease even after 6 hours. I guess it's coz the shades are so hard. I'm not quite sure if I like the hardness. While it makes it adhere to the eyelid well and stay put, it also results in poor pigmentation and you really have to dig into the shadow and pile it on to get it to show. Mixed bag, really.<br />
But the colours are gorgeous and you can create a lovely gold-black smokey look how I've shown here. I really like how the colours are so unique and have this <b>nice sheen</b> to them without being overly blingy or loud and bright. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinbUvu3KGz7V1Sthw3ZBNt7LYg_-JHuHH8ANcpChQ_Bhws-50Xq-lTWYHWMccDK622VwF1bbSwkGjuZXCAWlegSZYX86Vg-y_DovPVPluu-_uAg75PWyfz8AFC42rwE6K5MaqSmgipeJa9/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit8psciROIfvyZBlJRbEDmv8pUEtdE4cKqJqdWeYqMJMvnxSmG0zXJy-FeKcDh9vfmNr9t7TNonLGNHxP8BEUYl2hdCrzB2KKUgVWEIddWUugm5wzWcd7wm_ZKPjp4XEqohwNJrzg6fW7F/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2nF-48PhsXMLP6tVruaVzPRUgjXnSQAAZ5DNUG5HgfV3d0wcnMgYuv3Kh9atfWE0HP3TxLTIXAx4PJHmE03xt0nSeoBZy9CgZVvki0WjQCFhlL5SLcBXDBimfLeM2wGWVXNhW5_6aMSiB/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Yay for:</b><br />
<ul><li>Beautiful, unique shades</li>
<li>Nice sheen, not too blingy or bright. Just right.</li>
<li>Can be worn in the daytime or at night</li>
<li>Never goes on cakey</li>
<li>No fallout</li>
<li>Doesn't crease. Lasts 6 hours.</li>
<li>Adheres well to lids even without a base or primer</li>
<li>Applicator provided is pretty good. Foam tipped instead of sponge tipped.</li>
<li>Easy to apply. Blends well. Beginner friendly.</li>
</ul><br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Boo for:</b><br />
<ul><li>Very average pigmentation</li>
<li>Baked shadows, so these are slightly hard. They might further harden with time.</li>
<li>Applicator might be too small for comfort for some</li>
<li>Cannot use makeup brushes to apply these</li>
</ul><br />
<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><i>Overall, the Bourjois Smokey eye trios are a mixed bag really but this particular shade Gold Smoking is quite unique and definitely nice to have. You can easily create stunning smokey looks without looking OTT or too bright with this. Would definitely recommend this one to others.</i><br />

I've always been impressed with their products that live up to the claims they make. IMO this is the best "herbal" brand out there and is better than Biotique and Himalaya. However, Lotus is not free from parabens and SLCs etc so I dunno how they can claim to be "Herbal". Maybe they do have herbals extracts but still use parabens to preserve those. Sigh. Anyhow, I'm totally loving a couple of products from their line right now. Oh btw you know it's good it switch up your skin care products every once in a while coz the skin gets accustomed to it and stops responding properly to it. Yup, perhaps that's why I keep trying out new products every time. Or maybe it's coz I get tempted easily and the shiny packaging doesn't help either. :p</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg9HeZCCB_d6-e-5kheJXHGV0sY19kkf69jxmVMLGYnoZq588AbvBqi79VnY9Ee0hqgJFDojt5pUP_pVHoyq3HmHvOu-OMMvM4zx-1MnZnS7dQZr015sStnZSqOAHaX_3B-mEnx3VBh1xz/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Ok so the first one is the <b>Tea Tree Wash for oily skin</b>. Costs <b>Rs.125</b>. This has <b>tea tree and cinnamon</b> extract so it tingles when you use it. I love the feeling! So fresh! And it has mild exfoliation granules..some tiny white dots floating in a clear thin gel base that really make your face squeaky clean. Though it doesn't say so, I think it does a great job keeping blackheads at bay too. I've been using this regularly for the past month and my blackheads n whiteheads around the nose have significantly reduced. Wowza! It has a medicated smell that is strangely pleasant. Didn't break me out, feels great while using and has <b>gentle exfoliation</b> too. Winning combo. Also it doesn't make the skin feel stretched or dry after use. Pick it up if you have oily skin. <br />

Retails at <b>Rs.125.</b> I use this before putting on my makeup and it really does make my <b>skin glow</b>. I have no idea which of the ingredients does that but this stuff really suits me well. I have oily skin and this suits me well. Doesn't dry out my skin nor does it leave it greasy. This has small brown scrubby bits suspended in a clear gel base and feels slippery but does a good job at exfoliation and skin polishing. But I won't recommend using this more than twice a week. The scrub is not very gentle. It has a pleasant mild fruity fragrance, love the it's not overpowering. Like I said before, I use this before a special event and it makes my skin glow. Love it. Get it now.<br />

This site had primarily salwar suits and sarees so I promptly forgot all about it coz I don't shop for those online. I only like buying stuff that is not available locally like cute dresses or silk tops etc. And a few days back I again saw this SherSingh ad pop up everywhere- this time with Lisa Haydon wearing some very cute dresses. I was curious so I checked out the site again. And boy have they completely turned it around! Now they only have western wear- from <b>cute linen dresses to oversized silk tops to jersey maxis and polo shirts</b>. What the? <br />
They have stuff for both men and women and have <b>tops, blouses, polo t shirts and some very cute accessories</b> as well. The clothes are very <b>well photographed </b>and represented. They also keep adding new stuff every week. I especially love the cute linen dresses and might pick up a few very soon.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-pq2VQ6rCxOkeWue6v9lS_T0zjmT4XQudNymQqWQHFCIgCV-iMoYVf3W4sZ15eE-B3C6rTnXphrAnQaw-6E5PoscaJ3prcgR_euTKglavTgCfy_acCyMaEZ7VoULazPXKJywWaahT7soe/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivWQ5ElosuuvhS6EuhHPjTlJqWttIk4aALSlpqVb5v6Kmi49s5DlKfP8p-181fhXYxn9VzQftqJ9o7Zr1s2nwQ-bJjnSR7_dx4ATs5DBJM2qHYeGfqTahQcr7dUBJMh6u4nssAzb91U4R0/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>They also have an offer of 20% off on your first purchase once you register. So I did that right away. I picked up 3 tops that I thought I'd pair with skinny jeans or jeggings and are work appropriate too. The site is very easy to navigate and I'd opted for cash on delivery option. After placing my order I immediately received a confirmation email and a confirmation call the following day and they sent another email the following evening saying my package was shipped out via BlueDart with the tracking number included. Can I saw wow! I'd <b>placed the order on Wednesday night and received the parcel on Friday afternoon</b>. Very impressive. The clothes were exactly as they were shown on the site and the sizing was pretty accurate too. They even have a return police in case the stuff doesn't for you right. </p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b><i>Overall, I think it's a great site for some affordable casual fashion and you should definitely check out their linen colour block dresses or oversized casual tops in silk or cotton. But if you're looking for a similar lip product with the hydration of a lip balm and pigmentation of a lipstick do check out the NYX colour lip balms. I can't really say if they're as good as the Revlon lip butters but these seem on the same lines as those.<br />
Sadly these aren't easily available in India barring a few retail sites like StyleCraze but you can get these from BeautyJoint or CherryCulture for $6 a pop. That's roughly Rs.300. Not too bad, right?</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Ok so on with the review... There are a total of 10 shades available in this I think and all have been named Thank You in different languages. Cute no? There's even one called Shukria. :) The one I have is called Xie Xie and is a pretty <b>peachy pink</b> shade. <br />
These come in a black plastic casing with a twist up thingie at the bottom like a lip balm and have a black lid. The look and feel of the whole thing is just like a <b>tinted lip balm</b>. But these are surprisingly <b>not waxy</b> at all and feel very nice on the lips. These are not too soft too like the NYX lipsticks so will withstand the Indian summers and not melt away. I guess these are nice to have in your bag for those chapped lipped days when any lipstick will do further damage.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlikHEcfJJDUqe8QCxWb3oQlGRGzWrobkodbsEeeJL8M60T9lEkvihp7HLwrOWRTJEpS680nqjrIprjguDBbD9oQNVUA72LGozfgOroKGffv4U8_ysb_Vwfdw2nZoBSKbSvr1JbZFo0oci/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7iHc3dJrAoiV5QcGmLmj2Edfxh3KmXCTC8tKtQErkA350Soy5rjj5wf5DiTU8C1nBtwlc-TQ2SKRZayX0oRIwsOnZ6zlD39mNS_4epFp86SGgMcWpMAvPcB59I39PIuEKKMHB_Mrt4fBq/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRp86fBQCW9Ik9eeP1KkQv0srDo8JgRVPcqFPT8hv5EDmad2tfmf6QhMqGSerLLuPg7VSkzKXeyArj-oCflQ4egUq7pcQpEQkOHkh8Vx6ckHnDFGFc2e7_EdxnFYWtJj-SMV4N8FCvrN6y/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Yay for:</b><br />

Did you have acne as a teen? Do you have acne marks on your skin? Is your makeup going stale within an hour? Is your skin affecting your self esteem? Do I sound like a cheesy teleshopping ad? Well then look no further than this super duper primer from NYX. The NYX studio perfect photo-loving primer in clear is specially formulated for open pores. Though I think any primer should help fill pores. There's also a couple of other options available in this. There's a lavender one for dull skin and a green one for redness. My main requirement from a primer is to fill my pores (aftermath of terrible acne when growing up) and to help my makeup last longer without oxidising coz of my oily skin. Yup, I'm so blessed! <br />
This one form NYX costs $12 if you buy from BeautyJoint or CherryCulture but costs Rs.2450 if you buy from any Indian sites for 30mL! Crazy right? </p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>This comes in a clear plastic squeezy tube which has a matte finish with a shiny black screw on cap and a thin nozzle which makes it very easy to get the product out.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBskTjk4MJJvgnL1gJwl-Me5YrFLFGxILMoOBkz9ZIVAbaXCA5MerAGhT2UTsHWOJU6mG9CLQXNm3P9ktMfCBNZDe8SS4JC5cadlZZqb5ojfiyXA8pJ3j4kook-QRHb3EUiqLuf0PtFgK8/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>This primer is nothing but <b>silicones and parabens </b>to preserve all that silicone. So if you're allergic to silicone stay away. Others, read on. Naturally, being all silicone this has <b>great slip and gives a silky smooth feeling</b>. A teeny tiny bit is enough to cover your whole face. But make sure you don't apply too much coz it can make the skin look greasy. To cover the whole face you probably need only about a small pea size. Smooth this over your face and wait a couple of minutes before applying your foundation to let the primer dry n settle down. I generally apply this over moisturiser even though I have oily skin. So girls, never ever skip moisturiser. <br />
Once the primer has set in about a minute or so you can smooth your foundation over this. This provides a great base for the foundation as it spreads more easily. You'll also be easily able to achieve a <b>flawless look as it covers the pores too</b>, kinda like a transparent filling and when your foundation is applied over it, it makes the surface look even. I use a stick foundation and blend it with my fingers but this should work well with liquid foundations too I suppose. <br />
I love how it makes my skin look <b>flawless and smooth</b> and it also keeps the shine at bay. It makes your <b>makeup look fresh for longer</b> but may not necessarily affect wear time. What I mean is - say your foundation sticks on for about 6 hours without primer, then by using this also you'll only be able to get 6 hours of wear time out of your foundation but it'll stay fresh for longer. For instance, if you find your foundation oxidises or goes dull in 3 hours, this'll probably keep it fresh for 5. <br />
I had acne as a teen and still get the occasional pimple but this hasn't broken me out. I like wearing this to weddings and parties where I know I'd end up dancing or sweating and need my face looking fresh for longer. <br />
Top off your foundation with loose powder or compact to keep it fresh.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>See the photos below for proof. Oh and I've shot the pics in super close macro mode hence you might still see slight appearance of pores in the pic with the primer n foundation. But in person, the skin really looks flawless and smooth.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihNUDtgTmEKDPZzDrOFryGVSBTssuOdxyfZzNPa47E4_FYvjqy3TvLFb65xB-0NQ_eeq021zExrHQWeAIkf76XlJE42FexxICt2mL3zz9c2CkDulYvUb4laFQTxTHWyFvmYOD1fnEDo4if/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyjOUGy8a5k01lIGGfJlXZzH-b4zMhEJOwjjbmPPupxlBfzw1jntGvpxvFtq9quasQA14F3TJNSKZNbqPWpOldMyTch8yH-k0q_puzxyAt9gZXoK0u_FlMGc1rZh7jmtKn2RZFEmw13MUC/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinyWoDHQIL20PUJ7r9zC9BrrI5aKhgw6CiQf9X-VQ4K9TBzxLF5CdDta-pF-PAaIKy9dIhccoYqHjbuYZEolFPVxOYMEKcEH03wzZ2c_hW7-n0wwa_sDFPZQYVHn5UIQ18QvdsXlMstilD/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdPKuLBjBzvZuDlY56ql7UMIfRtXkjB6WW1Y0z36bBh2JJCHzPvo7LRcytTUg6Cl7hdeqL6p6xPGdwNMVgwiUeJn050MoU29D5t4QRGkIWVWFhkuxSug03IAjGRsjmG5OignPj_u0IDSJY/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Yay for:</b><br />

Oh plus it rotates. B-) <p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I've known to be a sucker for gimmicky stuff especially in makeup and most times it flops. But this time it's a super hit. I saw this mascara and instantly knew I *had* to get it. Why? Coz it has a switch and the wand actually rotates you guys! Super cool right? And pretty inexpensive too. I feel so James Bond-esque when I'm using this. Or a stylish spy- like Salt. I could totally be this girl on a secret mission to save the planet from evil and this mascara could be my handheld metal-melting laser beam. Yeaaaah. Zzzzt..zzzzzt.. and I'd wear a cape coz capes are so stylish right? Plus I'd swish it about when I walk and I'd stomp around in my knee high boots and I'd always have perfect makeup. But, I digress.<br />
Anyhoodles, the Bourjois Fast and Perfect volume mascara retails at Rs.850 and I picked this up at discount from <a href='http://www.stylecraze.com' target='_blank'>StyleCraze.com.</a></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXDNxsmJIGBepwL3O7Ds9kZBJFJ0LXinyWrEji5c_YbP2Lu1wF7uwWmNTZZSU4ZEPHs0NOEduVh-VjX4DG40QHcIsJrSbEvU8N4y6LyeHKHQPcXdgeNAVjvFHriMyd1VfotxFPES-XSexC/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX97ttiZPXhqMmFPWJzWaxqHKZlGEpyCv3DkOCzszv6tCFy65z793hYypuhHqRz40gXIw3krzbU5FsG_IVziK4P8mCMcD8hi5QE7dqHDkNf6Sv_MT823JXnmNlAtKNAQHZhVY67eRXtc2m/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTs-DTH3J4znc0F28S99Zno6S4kZuSJQHsnFmHcfN7zY5UZmPbzV7iBx_bUrP7q6W7xBk7q1Cau4oFu1DFmy5I0K9G1KREz4raO6Hd7E0ltWhfVNAvfsZnGkknpf58nCBGBQuPiW8KSDN-/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I know I've already given it away but this mascara has a <b>rotating wand</b> that comes with a switch and I suppose runs on batteries which hopefully will not run out before the mascara does. The body seems like metal and is quite heavy. The lid/wand part of it is actually longer than the tube and screws on shut. The switch can be toggled to make the wand rotate either clockwise or anticlockwise, depending on which hand you're using I suppose. <br />
The <b>mascara itself is quite lightweight</b> and goes on smooth. The formula isnt too thick nor too thin. Its just right, as Goldilocks would say. (forgive me, im reading nursery rhymes all day to my 6 month old) It <b>doesn't clump at all or sting</b> my super sensitive eyes. It lengthens, curls and adds slight volume to my lashes. Now I don't use a curler coz my lashes are already pretty curled and I only need some <b>extra volume and length</b> which this provides beautifully. You can get a natural effect with one coat or add one more coat for a dramatic effect. This mascara is not super dramatic but the <b>right kinda dramatic</b>..whatever that means! This also <b>separates the lashes</b> beautifully as it coats them. <br />
Best part- you can switch it on and hold it at the base of your lashes and it will coat the lashes by itself, it just <b>grabs your lashes and coats them</b>. Love the effect. Also, this is a nice <b>deep matte black</b> mascara.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihZVX3hYRgL8w0tB4xsppdTHU_LJB6mncBu9njptALh8JhLZgjGGoOoD-7_e7El2ySNgF8qzSPumacBuQ5PBJM8wjH_35lcDNXAlvcnuvPF32Y-9fg_vza_R_XPLE8Sw0npPayzEEhe6mg/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBNUFQs8ojQInDstsP2jKfjntpuujkn5HvVHI2_T82uVD73qrwCpr3R4stdyxva4339KXpS0lvBI343eGEwi1tfpbFjL3hWguzGV2PXp8RI0dFR2QNcYvAsqS-JvrtERMY65CwBY4hCO86/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Yay for:</b><br />
<ul><li>Rotating wand that spins both ways</li>
<li>Curls and holds lashes well</li>
<li>The brush holds lashes and coats them automatically as it rotates</li>
<li>Doesn't clump, goes on smooth</li>
<li>Pretty lightweight, doesn't weight down lashes</li>
<li>Doesn't sting</li>
<li>Washable with soap and water or comes off easily with makeup remover</li>
<li>Colour is jet black with matte finish</li>
</ul><br />
<b>Boo for:</b><br />
<ul><li>packaging feels Slightly heavy</li>
<li>Not water proof (I generally prefer washable mascara so it's not a con for me, but some may like theirs water proof)<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><i>Overall, I'm in love with this mascara and I hope they don't discontinue it. Guys seriously, pick this up. A mascara that curls and coats by itself and doesn't clump. What more do you need?<br />

I know I've been missing from the scene for a while now but it's coz so much was happening. 2 cousins got married (not to each other). One of the weddings was in Bombay so had to go there. And of course I couldn't return without shopping a bit, now could I. But couldn't make it to the famed Beauty Centre. Sigh.. Next time. And another friend got married in Kerala so had to attend that too. And was travelling with the lil dude who was surprisingly well behaved on flights. <br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzObZLDwg8OVmr6OL_iCZOouTXeli0Ja1ZnsHEyH3v4OP_btBMBuuodR-NBK_NCFedh1IW6yNNBa4tD-w-OXnCu1JBvaE5h0vw0y0FwYmz7Vus_uQ4MBF7Yw7PfvJWr0G527432yfIYFNQ/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Ok now onto the fun part.. What all did I buy? Well, I only had some one hour to shop at Linkin road and couldn't buy as much as I would have wanted to but oh we'll.. C'est la vie! What? I love rasta shopping ok? Really badly wanted to go to the Kala Ghoda festival and to Colaba Causeway but really couldn't coz I was still the lil dude's only source of food and it would have gotten uncomfortable taking him along.<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Also spent some time at the Pheonix High street mall where I was meeting some friends for lunch. This time I took the dude along coz Palladium has rooms where you can nurse the baby. So I didn't have much time to really shop but these powder pink skinny jeans caught my eye and I had to had to get them. Zara was on sale but I couldn't even step into the store.. Everything was in a disarray and was a total put off. Ugh. Oh btw has anyone heard of the store called MUAH? Last time I was in Bombay I picked up some very cute dresses from them for quite cheap. I remember it being in Palladium but I just couldn't locate it this time. Does anyone know what happened to it?</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_NDalWZGnh48j33PoUFzNDawKKwnev0WsAS_VdOTUJgw6ln9t0wtX5j6tBdUbRVT8_URFWR12yv4Vp0tFcEBWZXbSP-8Mp0-ChsC_5HfetSg33VRXgJpuVnBv-RWImISG6t1OkMaPNJpo/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Oh and I did some shopping online.. I scored these items from IndianHanger just now. Have ordered for them. Will let you guys know when it arrives. Have bought 3 things- this long pearl strings chain with a Kundan brooch on the side with an emerald and diamond setting and a quirky green beads elephant pendant chain and silver kolhapuri wedges. Can't wait to get my hands on em! :)</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga4E_dVSRQP0Y2SL1IrSNtPqmNEMazSRMKF3XqzIefdntrdCFuYK1Io2ijiQCKr5N9rfKYo7F6L5hKoIV4ziYwuIgPdHwcBRSpSwV4qKlzNaPusQjxgWqgBKz1fNWoVCHxrbSM7NKGdYmu/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I was just going through my wardrobe and found there are too many dresses in either black or blue. I needed more colour. Hence, this Vero Moda dress from Asos. Pretty cheap too. :)</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF9_PpJBMu9B4ynZE3V8fJ2j3smhixVzFceau7IBJSZtDVEC5DQ1JAWQS9MAVL8i2BBBrV3LoVgkYy6B8yX4gK1molDPDg5UG6mHJTKsv5m3DDXnz3xWvqlSLd5KprOTujvLlIcYyRatdm/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I've also been wanting to get a nice white dress for a really long time. Something that I can wear for brunches. And I saw this Mango dress on ShopatMajorBrands and it was on incredible sale so I decided that I had to, had to get it. But....when it arrived it turned out very differently from what I'd imagined! It wasn't white, it was cream. And it wasn't a stretch jersey fabric, it's wool knit. Sigh. But it still looks good, only my search for the perfect white dress continues...</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXU82Hg4p9y7ySqRzkGUblFg35_R-1QxevzaqVSe9BHfvU6Wu897juFyMfAiM44ctVxSdjEPVN-i2n93qkXLI0eRAvMOY78e861r7e-lHCJiofoG8GF5Jp1qIOYxMKpVbSG5LUVHSIGBnO/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>And picked up some stuff at the lifestyle sale. These 2 dresses were on 70% off and are from CODE. Dirt cheap. The printed dress can also be worn as a tunic over leggings. How could I not buy? :D</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzAL2VIKNvhN60DDJh-tBu9hS9Y-A1Uvlw1ze8N0NcCBPlCqcFaHRPhhC1-TExJrxbOMq3XLZosi8IwS2FCO-KWEzFuw2pvOWeqkQnyM-5S37ZLsQmZuMMrdyuhJARQRtpZo7wokYPkims/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7tYfUW9pNw6u4_-Z-uN1gkx6OAzlDG5E-xaB7-acuJuwncpSwqQ1sKwQP4nr3SJk64lQkdtgDQJIuHZDPeAfl3IUwLww9boYcxHcEOvUrsnejBTpjdM0359tdrNGB-Q0Dqz-_ZPBjBoAb/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I also splurged on some makeup from FACES, MAC and Inglot from the money I made from the blog sale (thank you everyone who supported it. Muah). Picked up MAC Cosmo lipstick (which im wearing everywhere-even when i go to buy groceries), MAC paint pot in Let's skate which is a gorgeous shimmery light pink-gold one from the Glitter and Ice collection and Carbonized eyeshadow which is the perfect brown shade. <br />
Also got a lovely duochrome pigment, a white kohl pencil and 2 rainbow eyeshadows (black+greys and browns) from Inglot. <br />
From FACES i got a velvet matte lipstick in Jazz Berry jam which is very close to Cosmo but pinker. Beautiful shade. Full review coming up. In love with its texture, colour n everything. Also got 2 duochrome pigments- teal and white pink.<br />
<br />
Ok I actually put in some extra money to buy all this but what the hell. :p</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlTJiFI_4IhUVAZSMaqgU6I2W1zb0udttPGVAkQMhgJiksWtsP2N1CFF4Ruwl39r0qrtD3rCAafUluTRmQcSyASzI2l4UN60JKg1kkkqQBRE3239C2_sR_6SZf72Fr3Mj3FE5FwcssyGSP/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi16OSBDCq4iCPQWQb7gAT3A0or0Okqm7PbD0m5159hLCG0zA0SApFgwcDMRJF8suUTEmzlDb3IRt5yd_RKV5DLwnTlPZuxNCrawpbDH2ZguguQBdx83vSVSjIrYiGYAxGVgsBVbZBpaoJ_/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5H55smI0-t2hsMjaCLPnPK1WCc-UDgn27P-E9N5rEp7HfvYBYM6vDhjuuDy9sjcCNS6hW_hmq-ev36GgRbF9Ck6ZznnNCdDr-PN6TGT3NVMCORJAIaqJxVNc0V_dzoZ6XKE4RyZbOd6ry/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So that's all folks. I'm back to home base now. Oh but the lil dude isn't so little anymore and has started teething and sitting and standing up. Uff! And he's only just 6.5 months. So he's constantly moving around and pulling things so gotta keep running behind him. Well, Revlon did it long back. This Aqua mineral powder works on the same concept. <b>The minute it touches your skin, it feels like a liquid, but is actually a powder</b>. Cool no? First when I heard about it I thought this'd be like those cooling prickly heat powders that have menthol. But this is nothing like those. This is really something else. It claims to have coconut water in it but I dunno how that works. Anyhow, I knew I had to have this coz I just cant resist these gimmicky things. What? They're so cool!<br />
<br />
Revlon has these in <b>2 variations- one called the mineral makeup (with black cap) and other called finishing powder (with the white cap</b>). Now these are part of the colorstay range but the mineral makeup variant has fine shimmer in it. The other is matte. Both are otherwise packaged identically- the loose powder is contained in a transparent box with a sifter on top and the screw on cap has a slide-out little brush. <b>This brush actually is very soft and dense</b> and will come in handy if you're getting ready in a hurry or need to do touchups outside. Otherwise, I recommend using a kabuki as that is larger and will give a better finish.<br />
These are slightly expensive though at <b>Rs.1100 for about 10g</b> of product. <br />
Even though one is called mineral makeup, it is nowhere close to powder foundation in terms of coverage. I think <b>both can be used only as setting powders over your foundation or tinted moisturizer. Only difference- the mineral makeup has fine silver shimmer (why???) and the finishing powder is matte. </b>So I use the one with shimmer only at night when I'm going for parties or dinner or weddings and the matte one I use in the daytime to avoid looking like a Twilight vampire.<br />
<br />

When you brush these on your skin it feels as though your brush is wet! It's such a nice feeling! Mmmmmmm... <b>Both are very finely milled soft translucent powders with no or min coverage but have excellent oil control and staying power</b>. These can be compared to MAC setting powder. Just brush this on top of your makeup and it'll keep your makeup fresh for longer without altering the texture. Wont cake up or oxidize. Didn't break me out. You won't see results immediately when you apply it. Don't be disappointed by that coz translucent powders won't show up at all. But you'll see the difference at the end of the day when you take your compact out for a touch up but voila- touch up not required! :)<br />
I used it once before a party and it was fresh even after I came home 4 hours later despite all the dancing and light sweating. <br />
I like to use the shimmery one under my eyes so it acts as a subtle highlighter to set the concealer and the matte one all over my face coz I have oily skin and I don't like to add shine to my face. <br />
Please note that this will not hide your pores or even out your skin tone as it claims. <b>This is ONLY a setting powder that can be used over your made-up face to keep everything in place. But it's brilliant at that. It somehow makes me look fresher and brighter and it stays that way for longer.</b><br />
In fact, I only wanted to get the matte one but when I saw the other one was on a great discount at <a href='http://www.makeupshades.com' target='_blank'>MakeupShades.com</a>, I just couldnt resist!! Got that for 600!!! Would have been criminal not to buy right? And the finishing powder (which I love more) is from <a href='http://stylecraze.com' target='_blank'>StyleCraze</a> and bought that at 10% discount after I hounded requested Chetana to stock this for me. :)</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH_YtxKkAe8IW5EE72cS1rLh-A0kN0TY7ZwWWveXDXQP_fqasMqCDrgWu5KVF_a49n-b2FXCnx1aGpm1fAV-iOp2y_45tQ_tPAnB_MNRBL1d-5M51XlJYcM-8tmzBe9R4y8CKTu4f4YyD7/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK0rmOJirW0U1X-tcYqSO8SxAhRrh1b_enoQjHTijqLLVageTS3m9d8xcrUXF_i0ZUoxhncBLn4QNo_RUHgYSixVC9CzeE-JjIRzjipMtDWS1g-DOxVx-lRaclNaisg7VOTJPBOslgCKn3/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>This is also available at all major stores.<br />
These are available in some 4 shades in India I think: Light, light-medium, Medium, Medium-deep.<br />
I have the shade Light in the aqua mineral makeup (black cap, shimmery) and the shade Light-Medium in the Finishing powder (white cap, matte). But both work well against my nc40 skin since they are so translucent. I think these should work well for all Indian skintones.<br />
<br />
<i>Overall, I will recommend this to anyone who has oily skin and wants their make up to stay fresh without oxidizing for long and also for those who just want a setting powder that doesn't alter texture or colour of the rest of your face. Plus the magic feeling of liquid you guys! Pick up the Revlon Colorstay Aqua mineral finishing powder. You wont regret it. :)</i><br />

And another great site to fuel our beauty and personal care needs is <a href="http://www.violetbag.com">VioletBag.com.</a> It's been around for a while now and has had very positive feedback in the indian blogosphere. So I decided to check it out too.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH_imdYIs94G5rUPZRQ1LOPcbcvPkqddX3KXogQVRRT2aAvabhsqwV8SXBwISbzZ48h9upw4ElP5F1GZRPQeqQQuEBjJTlwovEtlEfOhKJREeBPqWokliCiTPhMoMUTBbo_a8zjAMTg7Uc/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Site Layout and Interface</b><br />
The site layout is very neat with a pleasant violet (surprise) and white theme and has a drop down menu to select makeup stuff or personal care products, etc. You can even view products by brand or product type- lip products or eye products, etc. But what I found to be a drawback was that you can't further narrow down your search to say eyeliners or eyeshadows alone for eye products or lip liners, lip glosses or lipsticks for lip products. But you can narrow down by brand or price range which is a useful feature. <br />
<br />
<b>Featured Brands</b><br />
VioletBag has a wide range of brands in makeup, skincare, personal care and fragrances and they keep adding new products regularly.<br />
The best part is that most of the items are on good discounts too.<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDA7I21ncwmsxqSklYCWZ1nbh6Y0urzvY8PfqN7wELHH8HN37bup9LCxs_fH7inm1Uy0bQ6JVs9DKNBDlZePB6ccHfN0iqR6I8Oadz7NkSlD_yjGRaJ52tuz15nWwaT8FgHhn4yAMNSVj4/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I ordered for a Revlon luxurious smokey eye crayon in Bronze smoke, a Vega professional pencil brush, a revlon colorstay lip balm and Vega eyeshadow applicators. <br />
At first the lip balm wasn't available but they managed to hunt it down from some dealer (brownie points for this) and I received my package in 4 days. I was given a confirmation email with the tracking code as soon as they dispatched the parcel. I'd opted for COD and received it in good condition.<br />
The package arrived in all it's violet glory with the content firmly wedged between thermocol cubes and bubble wrapping. Very pleased with the packaging.<br />

I love duochromes. Whether its nail paints or my saree or the colour of my car. Oh and duochrome is not to be confused with two-toned ok. Two toned is like colour blocking...when you have two distinct colours separated by a distinct border. <i>Duochrome, on the other hand is when one colour is "shot" through the other..meaning it reflects another colour at a different angle</i>. Ok, class over. Now, onto the fun part..<br />
<br />
I love duochromes in makeup. Well, duochrome has been around in nail paints for a long time... You have so many paints that reflect blue or hot pink at different angles (an inexpensive example is maybelline colorama Roxo Metallico). And blue- green combos are also quite popular. Like NYX Paradise. Another one is Chanel Peridot which is a gold-green duochrome. Very pretty. And of course plenty of Zoya polishes which just looks like magic in a bottle.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcZrRTm3LsHDlDopbRCHSmGKb6LzUfLn1RreMPaPxQqF7g7JPlKybWVJCq98nC0hk5w7o7r9SdXQeOlJMkYVbONqKUNQmiEzT32bXyeNiQ52A8lUOUicUZ9Trkcm5iXLTKv1CR7UMz_Oo/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>There are some duochrome lipsticks and glosses available too. I have one from maybelline called iced orchid which reflects violet and hot pink. Very attention grabbing but not OTT as well. Then there are these AMC glosses that Inglot makes that really shift colour..very pretty!</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXbg2qZFdqXMEbOZX3OsBYS7uczZh0n-c7YDKmBAJ6BgSBxLsXc2PRe2M4qOWGrmfBYClBNG5XTCBn8GQKvF38HjZZ1uamTV7MTNIC_kS4owq16jWBbiWPZODKj9DI_P9DGflt7i4CVIC1/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>But, my latest obsession is duochrome eyeshadows. With these, eye makeup looks soo complex and interesting without putting in too much effort. All you need to do is sweep the duochrome shade all over your lid and it'll look like you spent hours layering and blending. Cool, right? Im gonna list my top picks for duochrome eyeshadows. Oh but before I gotta say somehow duochromes only comes as pigments mainly. But that's still better right? You can use it as an eyeshadow or mix it with clear nail paint to make your own. Yup. Ok so without further ado, presenting my top fave duochrome eyeshadow/pigments... *drumroll*<br />
<br />
<b>INGLOT pure pigment no.84 : </b>a stunning reddish brown- olive green gold duochrome. Absolutely gorgeous. Can't stop drooling over it! Buy it. Now.<br />
<br />
<b>INGLOT pure pigment no. 85 :</b> another pretty one, slightly similar to 84 but more of purple. This is an purple brown - green gold duochrome. <br />
<br />
<b>Bourjois shimmery loose eyeshadow in Parme Etincelant :</b> A lilac- blue duochrome. So girly and beautiful.<br />
<br />
<b>NYX Dramatic Chromatic pigment in Apricot/ Princess: </b>Both are v v similar. Pink- peach- gold duochrome. Can even be worn as a highlighter.<br />
<br />
<b>Inglot eyeshadow in no.415:</b> a light aqua blue- green duochrome. <br />
<br />
<b>Inglot eyeshadow in no.439: </b>A medium purple- blue duochrome. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBYr5Z1HEFjsugS9OvvF80l2AfF9aqgRKsCrWumT0LPG8Nun05EAIGc2vefZhPxehAlxTTvonmcCs6V4KWVZx67a0oYhi9Qp00NgOsolDyu2AcrNI4MYXMnE2RkZiMy4beTJpXKUa6OSRw/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>I know there are tons of others in many brands but these are the ones that I like the most and have my heart set on. Gonna buy all of these very soon. :)<br />
<br />
Oh and gotta mention- I found a <a href='http://www.etsy.com/shop/PersephoneMinerals' target='_blank'>seller on Etsy called "persephone minerals" </a>who makes the most drool worthy mineral duochrome pigments ever! I just wanna buy her entire shop! Sooo pretty. I still haven't bought anything off Etsy so I'm not sure of shipping and logistics. Once I do, I will update on the blog.<br />
<br />
So which ones did you like? Would you wear duochrome eyeshadows?<br />

And I loved these soft matte lip creams so much that I bought all colours that I thought would work on me. I now own 6 of these. Yes, six! In fact, I do this with everything. I see a dress I really like, I need to pick it up in at least 2 colours, if not more. Once, I bought this one particular shirt in all 5 available colours. Yep, I'm pretty mad that way. Oh but I digress. So I'll quickly swatch all the 6 shades and briefly review each. <a href='http://thepurplespirit.blogspot.com/2011/12/nyx-soft-matte-lip-cream-addis-ababa.html' target='_blank'>You can read a full review of these here</a>. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtmGbhmtTvkD7PtbTRM_syVX2oWkJZ4KHwx2vBe5STGlB4nbkanwG4-8zhtx173qosiCqXaRwcRUtpOhmTphYxKn0A4comOzO0mkeNrQYYKpx6za0J9E_AYlHLKiCMOgXxwDVtMY-6RVt1/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5n4eQ9ZN2KftKGFwbRdQH3SEHK3TTcPqKBLP7msjl6V5VbMMvTTWJcNDVCIUTtUhbEz2QFQqJ_HMt9F44Cjy-f1ig2bmUKz5eKGofj5fqkOlhg2oXkxdv00VQxZha5zXpayKO1BYk2gNx/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Stockholm</b>: A Peachy nude shade that is perfect for Indian tones esp around nc40 coz this is the perfect nude without giving you "concealer lips". The light peachy tones give this colour. This shade goes pretty opaque and would cover any pigmentation on lips too. Dries soft matte like all other shades.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6xXOwXx03Tce-L1OTRjHzS3d6WXUCUUyFn30kx_6FhTkDLEEFrnJBKj7gS4GWPj_p4QT7XBU5eSiZKWNKiTbJAkkTCDsAbaayuMzpcbIqvL6yZjuV36R5FXtpHNKqArkwWMe4cnZzjeLW/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Antwerp</b>: A medium peachy pink shade that is perfect for the office with neutral eye makeup or even smokey eyes. Very versatile shade. One of my faves. Goes on slightly sheer but can be built up and dries to a nice matte finish.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcLOT7iUQISQDM3tgbZs2pbvPr-lpTSZD2VznsqYEoS1BT7eNtzX9a2h1CT3GiTlqlGHecrkFPQuicRaPQ-uOumZL7dn5pyQi0lABvKcnMXxpvX-BklGvmG8S5B5VvYKuEZwKGBrgd_nBb/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>San Paolo (I think they mean Sao Paolo):</b> a bright coral pink shade that again is not too dark nor too light. I like pairing this with shimmery eyeshadow and a winged liner. Goes on fully opaque. But I'm not such a fan of this shade coz corals don't flatter my cool-undertoned complexion so much. Might work well on most Indian skin tones though. I'm a freak, yes. :/</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5K821dk14NrAt2rGZ2IS4aSLp3MfTrHGfKJ3ODa4OFyrAjeLYSGUbK4hgVqmskvTGzi4Pft6I_Jh9_cDAJ6TJ1l5_xJExARAQEKA10PJh4867W39r1G7NZF-tevtfRWNHRtxEpplcY8if/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Milan</b>: A blue based light pink shade. But not milky light, you know what I mean? When the colour is lighter than your skin tone. I'm nc40 and this is a nice light pink on me. Works great when worn lightly as a stain with lip balm over it.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPvXOinqhZYHvcChftFHFbstLTEe1UMAhYhvmdg81zfjlcZjJC5wCSw-ilI5KEzgI6CSxpOkNZW95hM1N_8D3xg2zDq8hwjsUdHag7SENzb5gruEvfYwzdu254qMvX4DdQhyphenhyphenYOXkvFlzFc/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Addis ababa</b>: This is a bright fuchsia (pink with strong blue undertones) that really works well against my NC40 skin without looking too loud. On someone fairer, it might look too bright. But the best part is that this can be worn as a stain or as a full on matte lip colour. This is probably the sheerest of all shades so it gives the effect of a stain rather than a full on matte lipstick which actually works pretty well for this shade. Love love.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidyPFNsExSJaSXvoQh5CNg8bRoolRQsXCoBrLk0dWI_VyE5UICMArOglxBgMTEqU4T8mFxDby9V1NLTi_Iohv5vk03oPBb1QWLxKvXxb8-Zv87LxayavtBry_E4c9CNkd17Z8-6K3-mD3j/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Monte Carlo:</b> This is a blue based red with pinkish undertones thats completely opaque and can be used as a stain (it'll look like a deep pink) or as a proper matte lip colour. Intense pigmentation and beautiful colour. Works well against my skin and I think it'd suit all skin tones. However, if you want a warmer orange-red, look at Amsterdam. I didn't buy it coz I already have a warm red matte lippie in my stash.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4v3FcH0IxRhEtOFmNAN8mRXRejMMlmym-HZyp1YT-Az0AEscRUb0LjLqKrHq-m5xxTDpx98Gbr7kMdfmtW7y3oYt5JVe7CorOC7NIMMOtj9Mzo7dIUKVrK5nrcfBYTfH0Tx4hsdo57Btq/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So these shades I think would work on most Indian skin tones. Which ones are you picking up?<br />

It actually works!!<p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Ok I can't believe I'm actually writing this review for a Vaadi herbals product! That too a positive review! Only goes to show that you should not judge a book by its cover and an eye cream by its price or unattractive packaging. Hehe. <br />
I'd received this eye cream free with a purchase from UrbanTouch loong back. Now Vaadi is a cheapie brand and not even in the "wow..how economical" sense that you'd probably say for brands like NYX or ELF or Himalaya herbals. This is actually a cheapie brand.. And it's fairly new so obviously people judge it by its pricing and packaging. I'd tossed this at the back of my wardrobe with disgust when I first received it. Then one day out of curiosity I opened it and smelt it. Didn't smell anything like a herbal product. Looked and smelt like any other cold cream. "Such a bogus" I thought. <br />
I never had any dark circles earlier. I had some faint circles that would easily get covered up by foundation alone. (thanks to my genes..my mum at 50 has none!!). But since the birth of the lil dude I've developed greyish brown panda eyes! :( Comes with the territory of sleepless nights and having a baby I guess. Sigh~~~ <br />
Anyhow, I then decided to start using some eye cream at night coz my eye area needed some TLC for sure. But I didn't have any eye creams and then I remembered this Vaadi one. I thought ok I'm sure it won't do any harm even if it doesn't work. At least it'll moisturise the area. So I scooped up some of the cream and gingerly applied it under my eye and over the lids. Now it felt like any other cream. Not too heavy that it felt oily but also not light like a lotion that it got absorbed easily. Had to pat the cream in. In about 30-40 seconds the area under my eye felt slightly taut and stretchy. Not in the soapy, dry kinda way but n a nice, firm kinda way. Immediately my hands flew to my face and when I touched the under eye skin, expecting it to feel dry, I was surprised by how moisturised it felt! I was baffled that this cream brought this "hydrated yet taut" feel that mostly high end eye creams or anti wrinkle creams have! Wow! This was good stuff! And I'm happy and equally surprised to report that with continued usage for the past 2 months, my dark circles do seem lighter! Don't you just love happy endings? :)</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzCr8w3q8n_N9YTHnGhXQsZJ_yifaldb2IIpoTL1jm0MKLywuytu6PPPxo-RBsaa3x5ExqirNew0XeYwQzkxVXWQnObmtNDyOGjM43XQxaZUWIhUBIZsgT36T5ZExY5hzZIKD0vh22Y3_h/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidrXMPNFoRKE5gxUfA95IlIvUKnJVHwkS-YegEhMz_cb5fenDOc4z4fDSYo5luvDaoXRT6I7iPS80Pw8SyI3axB4LCJGU2lrtmddOQABmae_of0bu2VDqLB0Tx9PlYmL9VefNnh_-Cd2mK/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPGgyve6qQq5ykZ7UpSBI2dMUiYUeXknTl-0TdxnqUpxggqXpjquCt7Rb13Bn3T_d_YklB25ChsElZr0tYft7iym1HRq3QrV3zGE7e31b_3K9YvAwEkNvSniT0MOZ7PSs1RTOC4nUs5L7A/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6MVnz171fJ0B0oLUSDEl5HouQOhL25cZix0CdOj-axkdOirU-0IP_lQm4u8zBiMWFi45VHOPoYf4mQkFBES67RM06idxypo96Ki5hpKUUAMo-pG4h9mOgBRagQxbMTMrIlamRXuLfpFHN/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Price : Rs.48 for 25 g</b></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Yay for:</b><br />

Why? Coz they give a subtle flush to the cheeks, last all day and don't rub off or melt in the humid Chennai heat. Sure, they can be a pain to apply but once you get the hang of it, you could even do it in your sleep. I used to looooove the <b>Lakme just kissed Lip and Cheek stain</b> but they discontinued it. Grrrrrr... Next I tried the <b>bourjois rouge hi-tech lip tints</b> as cheek stains and they worked pretty well too but are slightly sheerer. Then I tried <b>Body Shop's lip and cheek tint</b> and ugh! It's a stupid product! It might work well on lips but on cheeks it's a dud. Too sheer and glycerine-y. No go. <br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit8uVYuLjU5P3_jOtVQ-LIuz65Ia36fK-LASEhs3b2C-oNJdVOCkVccKas6LIk19im7LkZkJImYcEk_zWXdYcl-snC_06cUy2xQ6I4YFflvV0XiXfaq5Kwjok3EREH-Sw1bPlcTdzm5E8O/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>The latest one I've hit upon is Oriflame's Very Me Lip stain in Red. It also comes in another colour- raspberry. Now this is a very teeny meeny tube with a screw on cap and a sponge-tipped wand applicator like any lipgloss. This transparent tube contains 3.5mL of product and costs Rs. 159.<br />
This is a slightly thin tinted liquid which has a sugary taste and smell. You can dot it on your cheek and just blend with your fingers to spread it. But be warned, it might settle into open pores or fine lines. So, it's ideal to use a primer underneath it.<br />
I generally apply cheek tints over my foundation but you could use it under your foundation or tinted moisturisers as well. It gives a nice natural flush to your cheeks.<br />
The colour is slightly orangy- red when swatched but on my cheeks it looks like a peachy-pink. Quite natural. <br />
It lasts about 5 hours before fading. Not too great for a tint. Hmpf!<br />
<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUsFGvxXhKZBd5M5RQWVEdBNMAAuy6K9yYLAVQflMf3aAlQgrbDScRqtm6NMqtFPowk3x9-ywdppFfOd_z19IPpIMSTfYAOUJH892erLHL72GN6MH4YVOxw607qtyF19J7qjlAnDkVy95m/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>As a lip tint </b>this product performs pretty well. You just need to run the applicator over your lips, wait for it to dry and apply some balm on top for a nice glossy look. It doesn't dry your lips out or anything. Very weightless, won't feel like you're wearing anything. But it's very sweet tasting- like sugary water and you might wanna keep licking your lips. :p <br />
This lasts about 3 hours on the Lips. Pretty decent.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSbBiX0cw0wryylfgZ8Gwn6e_tnLGJwUx6oVJ2Fbstxgu0ch3yx5My_65x03qyTIc85HGKoWqbEgCLhVRn0wbjW8uoY4ysuCQXI7W78gyHc1ioQuY39YQhZ7xhh06LSzVp2rabfmiSlmIt/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfV4593o3tDP5ozrWBugoo8JVMHmYCLNduWMbJutVrJT_rwQhDE-hfjg1vH_4ZJz7JOr1REPhwgg-TsE6QUzwRsGsROOxUYSIcaD2gcBWD1ZHC6fDNp_Yb-bqQ-AV5sB-SFCpm9lROMvUB/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>As a Cheek Tint:<br />

<ul><li>Easy to apply. Dries relatively slowly so you can blend it properly</li>
<li>Imparts natural flush to face.</li>
<li>Pretty sheer so colour is buildable.</li>
<li>Tastes and smells sweet</li>
<li>Tiny tube, easy to carry.</li>
<li>Pretty inexpensive</li>
</ul><br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Boo for:</b><br />
<ul><li>Doesn't last all day, like cheek stains normally should.</li>
<li>Availability.</li>
<li>May settle into open pores or fine lines if used on bare skin.</li>
</ul><br />

I've got brown eyes and blues really flatter them well. I've been on the lookout for a blue kohl forever, something that I could wear on my waterline. I've got blue pencil liners form Maybelline, Faces and Colorbar but none of them are waterline safe. How do I know? I tried them on my waterline and my eyes immediately started burning and watering and I had swollen eyes the next morning. So kids, don't try that at home!<br />
<b>Caution: you can only use products that say kajal or kohl on your waterline. </b></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So imagine my happiness when I saw this product listed on MedPlusBeauty.com. This retails for <b>Rs.220 for but I bought it for Rs.187 online.</b><br />
There are also other shades available: grey, black, taupe and brown. Wish there was a teal or green though. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSdprPJXlsigKBXc3rAYS7-hK9K6ez09HiaVeDPXAvHk8DuTMIVLDlrZ39H3imZo4ftt6wy8uS4qvYzIsYAbf-1ZTRNuNiUoXtNPCMBQ3fHKv7JLh7VV6LmfP1ivzXOGBQjhGSgjtGpg6g/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVachx6ynve_4lezFmEgQtpZk7g7WaH82vhFyd9T1qGGubuOtQTIrzQejR2b0ZwskVkJyg4DW7huLkEI1NMexBJhjSD9p9e5lz0CKjOvr-6U4BEUxzpfhpwvLNj-tr4Q6oyuN3CzWbBKLH/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Colour</b>:<br />

<b>Quality</b>:<br />
It's not too creamy like the faces or Colorbar I-glide ones but not hard too. Pretty easy to get enough colour without tugging the eye. But since this is a kohl, it's not smudge proof or water proof. You rub it, it'll be gone.<br />
Comes in a regular sharpen-able wooden pencil form. Fits in any regular sharpener. Easy to sharpen without breaking the tip.<br />

Overall, I think it's a neat product for the price and I love wearing this on my waterline with a wash of shimmery nude shade all over the lid. The blue is subtle enough to be worn during daytime too.<br />

I'd like a matt dark brown too in it so I can use it to create soft brown smokey eyes for daytime office wear too. <br />
So what's the solution? Create your own palette doll! I'm planning to get a 20 shade square palette from inglot and fill it up with all nude shades and complementary lip shades too. Maybe throw in a concealer and a brow powder and ta da! <b>The best palette ever! </b>All that you'll ever need. :)</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So here's a list of shades that I personally think would make the perfect smokey eye palette and would also be very versatile in creating various daytime or more glam looks. I've put together some collages for quick reference. Again, the pics are from the www and if anyone objects, I can take them down.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Okay...so the <b>basic shades</b> that I think ought to be in a nude/smokey palette are:<br />
<b><i>matte black. : 391M<br />

Seriously..I see one, I start salivating. And there are soo many options out there. But easily one of the best is the Urban Decay Naked palette and now they've launched the Naked 2 which I think is a whole lot better than the first edition. <br />
So, what if you can't get your hands on one and wanna make your own one? Fret not, fair maiden (s).. I'm your knight in shining armour. I'm gonna give you dupes from Inglot which match the UD palette in quality and colour, of course. Seriously, inglot shadows are grrrreat. You can buy these from shopatmajorbrands.com and now they have a flat 20% sale on.<br />

Foxy : 328M (matte light peachy yellow beige)<br />
Half baked : 404M (shimmery bronze-y gold)<br />
Booty call : 395P (shimmery beige)<br />
Chopper : 405P (shimmery copper gold)<br />
Tease : 342M (matte taupe medium brown)<br />
Snakebite : 409P (shimmery dark brownish bronze)<br />
Suspect : 402P (shimmery light brownish gold)<br />
Pistol : 420P (shimmery taupe greyish brown)<br />
Verve : 393P (pale shimmery pinkish gold)<br />
YDK : 42S (medium reddish copper)<br />
Busted : 423P (shimmery dark burgundy brown)<br />
Blackout : 391M (dark matte black)<br />
<br />
Some shades might not be exact match but work well nevertheless. :)<br />
You could even pick and choose and make your own Naked palette. <br />

I know I've been slacking for a while but it's coz so much has been happening.. I've been away. Went to Kerala for a friend's wedding and was soo nervous about travelling with the lil dude but in the end it all worked out well. He was quite ok during the flights thankfully and the trip was quite fun. The whole gang was there and everyone got sooo wasted at the after party. For the first time ever I got to witness all this sober- very entertaining indeed. ;D<br />
This wedding coincided with my birthday and so it was doubly special.. And just as I predicted I got an <b>iPad 2</b> from the husband. And I've been playing around with it since to see if it can replace my laptop. And I'm quite happy with it so far. <br />
<br />
<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTd6-Sz7NfEzH4Bc_3V6ad82CRUh6rJp6IutsbtkEISQMef2MVvmH0SsJSRflx8o-I7u8QAHIDDXNNG0R9OnMXrE0FrFmkme5xy5Zsj-MXz2egzJPKMfYJO1SrCuTxsDtmw1oAN0vOTPUV/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>What do I use it for?</b><br />
Blogging, editing photos (just the lighting) and making collages for my blog, watching tv shows and movies, sketching, browsing and playing the occasional game.<br />
So after extensive research I downloaded these apps that make doing these activities a whole lot easier.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>On but before all this I think I must mention the case I got for this. While the original case looks sleek and beautiful, it won't work for me coz err..I sometimes tend to drop stuff. Yup, I'm quite the clumsy one. So wanted a case with more protection. And I found this <b>rotating swivel type case</b> that lets u rest the iPad in 2 positions each in either landscape or portrait mode. I really wanted the hot pink or purple variant but it wasn't available in India and of those available I thought the red looked hot so got that instead. It's really cool though. Also has that built in magnet that puts the iPad to sleep and wakes it up when u shut/close the case.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfpU80aMzYuuOlXhGeVuGC_8lgqkOyOyQ3YbvVNjbC6GF0DcFwkMEkMQcGO1gQw6PUkv-MEV3lyMpZQCqwR0F6UlBubKYUw9b_LdRCNTbl3lpYoJD5J9yAXL6kly8lqHAtA5tDzRhEtEfJ/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Moving on to the apps...<br />
<i><b>For Blogging:</b></i><br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Blogger Plus<br />
Price: $2.99</b><br />
This supports Wordpress and blogspot and is v v simple to use. You can even add pictures and format text or add links or tags. Very easy to use. In fact this post has been composed and posted via this app. <br />
<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUxMyGI4Opp1Hbn3IReSs6EWyPmswAcfHyb7LQK8XRIdaHdLsrx11rhWlocO4DzPTcpJPBv7YYkWt2bgX5j1pgTajt2yVv5KKuDaDSZxRt5gBJCfgW-p_ok9Z7BPlNbb3qf5ldChaHpnz2/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><i><b>For sketching</b></i>:<br />
I like to sketch some designs sometimes. For clothes, mainly.</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Draw for iPad <br />
Price: free</b><br />
This is a basic sketching/ note taking app that only has some basic coloured pencils as drawing tools. But what puts taxable other such drawing apps is the ability to undo last move and also has some preset templates for playing tic tac toe, dots game and some word game. You can even save the image to your photo library.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLeVqRJKo6wdMQUEh-KvoFMlMhPynDAR79SfIqIEWbpIUPeXQhhcUETxoGBkJZaVr485DXq3VXQ15GheaWdEmRE7O9eUzhxmYSxRHZu3QhrOCH1qKcEI8xQ8R7WzmQVEq0ok_GsIYbozGj/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Sketchbook express<br />
Price: Free</b><br />
I'm sure anyone who's ever wanted to own a sketching app has heard of this app by autodesk. It's got a huge range of tools and brushes and you can mirror, fill in or even add images from library. This is the lite version and has fewer brushes and tools but it's all I'll ever need, perhaps more so I'm not buying the full version.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsHg32garc0AE6bcXvTF3YiJUwJQEjHPBRTjG6F3EHggPJcykupgb0zuH-sQRX4kjlti8wUYuSL-uW0svICEMLUEzkSqkitZEvwCNS9221_y2EZ-5KqTVfy3nl7iWGqM1pEGj5ffAas8hr/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Finger sketch paint for iPad<br />
Price : Free</b><br />
This again is a cool app for quick sketching. This is the free version and in this you cannot export images to your library but no problem coz you can always take a screen shot.<br />
How to take a screenshot?<br />
Simple, just press the home and power buttons simultaneously and the screen will flash white and the screenshot will be saved in your photo library.<br />
Anyhoodles, this app is cool and has some in built shading options that make sketching easy. No fancy brushes though.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCcE5-a7YQtEUgnHVws-BdRrH1Ah1pjrwAxiTDb8xZaO7rYmj-SKBo-B5TmVk-VuoKT1F_PcwY_Euaf2HIYa1IWQ30joZUHe6YPZ9AjFdrhPf8zEFV03bjkzK7uuPtobEPBujlAhjM39if/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><i><b>For editing lighting in photos and to make collages for the blog:</b></i><br />
I also have the ipad camera connector kit that enables the iPad to read an SD card directly so you can click pics on your camera, take out the memory card and transfer images onto the iPad for editing and uploading directly. Boom!</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Photo Toaster<br />
Price: Free</b><br />
<br />
I have the free version which is called photo toaster jr and has some basic presets as well as customisable adjustments for brightness, contrast, white balance and vignette apart from usual suspects of monochrome, sepia etc. You can even crop or rotate your photo in this. This is all I use to edit the lighting in my photos that I upload on my blog to bring out true colours coz sometimes the camera fails to capture that. Decent app, no frills or complicated stuff. Works well for me. You could save the edited photo to your library or post on social networking sites.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZtORMHi05uLbve9RhKaot1LkspdnEsutel4_4DVQ31eMQg3jX28ZlF-tefF26PnIasj3wkwcL6e4zMedDduxXQIWw8dCTnb_uNKInQbIHiuMuKRKTnECPq70VG9yzEXXl-q2t2EigxKSH/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Photo ripper finger design<br />
Price: free</b><br />
<br />
This is an extremely simple app that you can use to cut images freehand to make collages. V handy for me to again put together images to upload on my blog. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEpgj9G6HCcp7xmXZA14AVm9Kmpj42SQgwMW-FSL_E1P3LezPh2CX7CHkareKLldq8ihQ-0DpeT-QTG2x5LB2G05n9cr8NUozf16WcoTH3M0GkJPcyKL6BWeupm3YPHNO27Uw6gZkeXUPa/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>MoodBoard<br />
Price: Free, $9.99</b><br />
<br />
What I have is the free version which works well for me. With this app you can create a moodboard for your design projects. You could add images and texts and move them around, add arrow marks or tack pins to present it well. The best part- this saves everything as layers so it becomes easier to edit them. Very useful app.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinoHtFqHKa1EoPbNtTxwJLR8_9N4tZHU_Ht2h54Wpc42BQ15Oh_sdveNYjJ6BdGzunY7ckOIXeaXHKgTa5UPQvbMjokyvPfQDP_nZF9m0oc8Z8gyZvQXwL2vestE4i7P6IuSTW6iHEJF41/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><i><b>For watching TV shows/movies:</b></i></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>CineX Player<br />
Price: $3.99</b><br />
<br />
This app will play all your avi files and even add subtitles if the srt file is available. But this doesn't play mkv files. So why did I get his? For one awesomely cool feature- it can covert any video into a 3D video that you can watch with 3D glasses. Cool or what? This is available for an additional $0.99 but totally worth it. So much fun, you guys! </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQiHt_cSvWoz_63lW1TPhiHrW51BGxIbPhScGksHrA9-jO8jYDVp6w8Z7JayRj0y0Yld2xE3Fx4Q6vf2JSqH6dI3yQKxwFEcppNnp92Gcy6bDte4psRet2kee41skvqfUyoKrKuJCvIKO7/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>AV Player HD<br />
Price: $2.99</b><br />
<br />
Good app, plays all formats including mkv, supports subtitles. I picked this app over some others coz this allows you to receive files from your laptop wirelessly, all you gotta do is key in the ip address. Pretty neat, no?</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0uQJc67zJ-kC8AcF3m6tOt9r07isSUpsO5K15LiDSENKqPCcocEn2R9pujBiIpjLfXZJRQdNfCgZ7BWbAInUtDVT3o_BUerOdUuXk7LFvraWAzrGinl0VwlXHfGNQxCsi3RV9lH1k5fpf/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>So yup, that's about all the apps you'll need if your requirements are the same as mine. :)<br />
Plus you an carry an iPad in your bag and can blog from anywhere. You just need your camera, the connector and your iPad. Oh and a wifi connection or a 3G sim. Simple. So beauty bloggers, skip your next haul n pick this up instead. :)</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl3eKdHsbuV9zcssPs7-IDiqOI0bgMMCMRFaeIbFf_olmC1Jwg2EjPEJgxZHPBuXlRMEut5a5fCBqUh1uhVn8_79_0_NzGnSySSpiwWDw8Wy96GrvFIP7pDG5GU9C6w-YPhGCipedufQ0E/'></div></p>thePURPLEspirithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927252130066411978noreply@blogger.com16Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India13.060422 80.2495830000000312.916343000000001 80.157828500000036 13.204501 80.341337500000023tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8300038460300779736.post-45205377526066196852012-01-12T08:38:00.000+05:302012-01-12T08:38:26.961+05:30NYX Round Lipgloss in "Pinky Natural": Swatches and Review<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">This was a part of <a href="http://thepurplespirit.blogspot.com/2011/10/yay-my-nyx-goodies-from-beautyjoint-are.html" target="_blank">my first BeautyJoint haul</a>. This is one of the best products from NYX. Now that I've already given away my verdict, you may choose to stop reading the review and just look at the photos or read on to know why these top my list. :)<br />
NYX round lip glosses are available for <b>$1.75 (Rs.100)</b> from BeautyJoint and are available in a total of some 36 shades I think of which only about 5 are non shimmer, non frost- Pinky Natural, Natural, Real Nude, Pink and Mauve of which I bought Pinky Natural coz it looked like a very pretty pink. And it is! This shade is a medium pink with mauve undertones and looks very pretty when worn on it's own or topped over other lipsticks. It has no shimmer or frost and is decently pigmented and goes almost completely opaque. The consistency of these glosses is neither runny nor too thick but I'd say these are on the thinner side, which I like coz they are non sticky. The pigmentation of these isn't the same across all shades and the ones with shimmer are generally less pigmented than the pure colour ones.<br />
These come in a clear round tube with a black shiny cap and have a bent doe foot applicator with a sponge tip. Pics below are clickable.<br />

</div><b>Yay for:</b><br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Nice pigmentation. Goes almost fully opaque</li>
<li>These are non sticky and quite shiny</li>
<li>Last about 3 hours before starting to fade</li>
<li>Fades evenly, leaving behind a slight sheen on the lips</li>
<li>Not drying, not moisturizing either</li>
<li>Very very inexpensive</li>
<li>Can be worn alone or over lipsticks</li>
</ul><br />
<br />
<b>Nay for:</b><br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;"><li>These have a slight smell to them which fades in sometime but some may have a problem with it. I personally find the smell of Mega Shine glosses evil compared to these. These I find are tolerable.</li>
<li>Availability is an issue</li>
</ul><br />
<br />
Overall I quite like this range of glosses from NYX and they are great value for money. These are non sticky and pigmented and available in a whole range of colours. I definitely recommend these to everyone. I've already ordered for "Real Nude" in my <a href="http://thepurplespirit.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-second-order-from-beautyjoint.html" target="_blank">next order from BeautyJoint</a>.<br />
<br />
You can buy these from <a href="http://www.beautyjoint.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=2_19&product_id=81" target="_blank">BeautyJoint</a>.<br />

It's my favorite time of the year! I love the entire season from October right uptil January. Why? Multiple reasons- the winter starts setting in and I loooove winters (though in Chennai winters never really come but hey at least I'm not sweaty all the time. Sigh! I miss Delhi) and coz it's the festival season and there's something cheerful in the air that lifts your spirits and makes you wanna celebrate and hug everyone you meet. But most importantly I love these months coz I personally have a lot more to celebrate- my anniversary, the husbands birthday and<b> MY BIRTHDAY!! </b><br />
Yup! My birthdays coming up- it's on the 7th of January (gifts and cheques accepted ;)) and now it's legit to make lust lists. :) <br />
<br />
So what all is on that list?<br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>A nice gold watch. </b><br />
Right now I wear a chunky chrome one but I've been bitten by the gold bug. It's everywhere. And it looks nice paired with dresses and jeans alike. My first choice is the absolutely drool worthy, highly coveted Bulgari Serpenti but with all the spending I've done over the last couple of months, I don't think the husband will take too well to me asking him for this. ;) <br />
So like a good wife that I am, I've got another option- the <b>Guess watch</b>. Guess has a lot of options for chunky gold watches in the 10-12k range so I'll probably pick one of those. Wondering if I should get a gold face one (which doesn't have diamonds) or white or black face one(which has diamonds). I'm leaning towards the gold face but I also like bling. Uff! Such confusion.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG2o2WFL_E4AS54jRT_wADqflMWN0we06NtcAMVlS34-NnuzRg9JxbxLDIsY5YOPdBTSNZYWjtdLMbFmKF05Slmu9w1mhYlAMsU0Oqs3fqfnIxtnbw5OiDbuotHwNcBXgzFdkwK9V4-o4y/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>A Tablet</b><br />
Because I wanna read ebooks on the go and easily browse, check blogs and also upload my blog. I'm confused between samsung galaxy tab and <b>iPad 2</b>. Currently I'm hogging the husband's iPad but it's the original version and it's too heavy and doesn't fit in my bag easily. Need something that I can carry with me at all times. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxGQ6GBwa4JnNcdicygUe_aE7vJOrx_MtSlC5-AHtMiKRBHVSagsLhtBFySkoydAnbT17EXS4lmWrAW1PwBg2zTwX4CYRzahTPWhbhoJFbMli1HeRG_3Y4QjtcumiOt3zi0jVS08tJui8E/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Hair styler</b><br />
I recently got my hair cut and shifted to a low maintenance style but it's growing and it'd be nice to curl my hair and change it up every once in a while. Again I'm wondering whether to get one which is like a blow drier with various attachments or the heat based one with attachments for curling, straightening etc. <br />
</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh03f9TjoaRkAh25SdHx5PDOpPqJZ_3V_2d48-d34rM3QvPkCxziAfL8Qqf2Rnm3XYQ2E0WQC2ReI-TRy_0RAVt6X2pAnJaOJgzJ1NUkOAYJK2Yh6-QzqaLvdAetbr2ACGptN3RHP529TKx/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>A Grecian white dress</b><br />
I've been wanting one for a long time but can't seem to find the perfect one. I spotted one that came real close to it at LightInTheBox but it's too expensive for something that claims to be a Chinese wholesale site. Hmpf! But the site does offer to customize the dress to your size and colour preference. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihfaG4vgg2JmBzhf184yagGPmzym_hfF7fZFaR4xLNcpk0BcDTJLE0geIjsNVLk4hno7NQLRb69Jzsxx8YESX3HwZUddnNDIc_x2dyks9y1jCiulVk9b2JT-UL4-NyTTaBrcModeibCMM-/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>The Travalo perfume spray</b><br />
I love perfumes and I sincerely believe smell is half seduction and always carry a 30mL bottle of perfume in my bag at all times. But I can't do so when I go for dinners or parties and only carry a small clutch with me. That's where this lil baby comes in handy. It's teeny and can be refilled easily with any perfume and looks cute too. But sadly it's not available in India and only have to order it from a US seller on eBay.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSU8Eik6eavm3D1goU4qUzJbMB3KP3rO381StuZtMF0dydYV2ljxNorASs_FT-J2J8G73ZUC7YpTA53PSQMXRPFX1ceR0L_VcTbLbVVaQTkrYGxLx8JYh87cOubudj3oPrddEnQYubHEcb/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Leopard print heels</b><br />
Been looking forever for the right one. Should have 3" heel, rounded toe and ankle straps. Still looking</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeIxJty3ku5fYqsJqwiDTodU2QXff1oLvXJL1rwWx0Hf7E5DRZgyGk_pGtIIJnXbfCiIw8mGNfucQkf8TtNtASDgOuzS-GEQgx_Lc3db9YzrYfoj4GTyFBWzb05GxI4PxApTxHAOwJgPkv/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Sequin clutch</b><br />
Want one in gold and another in black. Zara and Mango both have great options but since both are unavailable in my city and don't have online stores, maybe I'll make one myself. </p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj2JX0ZuLvZUKXovuAgCdX8MllwbLYmgHr8OQ_blsBCVQrIWLXoswHc-JdbYhZQFnbD7YVvXSsgWONg0usxBGUnDpme0jYzISONolTxvNqK0K5hxaXqI_5_qNy08Kk000Frpxw5iDG-4rj/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'><b>Plain chiffon saree</b><br />
I picked up this dull gold fully sequined blouse from the Phoenix mall, Bombay recently and want a plain chiffon saree with a thin gold border to wear with it. I'm thinking perhaps a nice red one. Don't have a red saree yet.</p><p class='bloggerplus_image_section'><div class='bloggerplus_image_section' align='center' style='clear:both;'><img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix5W-gNMh0_LGUzggpoOUs1TQ7TefJNHe8ESv5rfs2fuOUZcUOslqSU7cEaXjlVMdy3n5de7YDENTogKGrgPivEnnYTPCMj1KBYZILeJjwzX1nYo2oUWjaxYrhABPdnu-p5x_CjjRcb7SK/'></div></p><p class='bloggerplus_text_section' align='left' style='clear:both;'>Yup.
